INDEMNITY

An indemnity plan is a health insurance plan that reimburses the patient and/or provider as expenses are incurred for a set percentage of the cost, minus deductibles and co-payments. This plan does not have a network of physicians, so the insured is able to choose hospitals and healthcare providers as care is needed. Typically, indemnity plans have higher premium costs and more out-of-pocket expenses.
